These markings typically consist of a sequence of numbers and letters such as ‘700x35c’ or ’26×2.1.’ The first number represents the tire diameter in millimeters or inches, while the second number indicates the tire width.
Measure tire diameter using tape
To determine the tire diameter, you can use a tape measure to measure the outer circumference of the tire and then divide this measurement by 3.14 (pi) to calculate the diameter. Alternatively, if the tire size is imprinted in inches, you can measure the diameter directly in inches. Keep in mind that measuring the diameter should include the tire sidewalls to ensure accuracy.
